On 24 March 2025, members of Les Lumières de Paris Hong Kong Chapter were invited by Fringe Club and the “Hong Kong-Shenzhen Art Week” to the Inaugural “Art Fringe” Exhibition Temporal Horizons Central Open House and Opening Ceremony at the Fringe Club in Central. Running from 19 to 30 March as a highlight of Hong Kong Art Month, this pioneering showcase featured the latest works of 30 distinguished artists across oil paintings, photography, ceramics, installations, and performance art. LLDPHK members joined this vibrant celebration of artistic exchange between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, enriching our region’s cultural tapestry and aligning with our mission to foster creativity and connection.

The Condenser

The Condenser is an environmentally reactive, hygroscopic sculpture. Suspended 3D-printed vessels absorb humidity from the exhibition space, which originates from visitors’ breath and conversations. The vessels maximize surface area through lamellae-like 3D-printed condensers and use a hygroscopic chemical to extract moisture from the air.

 

Cloud Rock I

Cloud Rock is a contemporary take on the traditional element of the Chinese Gongshi (供石).Their shapes are the result of millennia of natural erosion and slow transformation juxtaposing the fleeting notion of the man-made artifact,usually a highly customised unique wooden base for the rock. Together their geometrical and narrative complexities form a microcosm for human reflection and interpretation. Cloud Rock is made from natural rock. It was excavated in the Guangzhou region of Southern China. The rock is held in a base that forms around the 3D-scanned rock. The base is 3D printed stainless steel.

Procedural Echoes

Procedural Echoes presents a new, digital nature—a hybrid vision that reimagines the natural world. It is both a celebration of nature and an elegy for its loss, a swansong for the wilderness that has become a distant memory in the age of AI and the Anthropocene. Dense and direct, it rejects sweeping vistas, embracing a view that is unapologetic, non-hierarchical, and unyielding.

Cymatic Ground

This work serves as a second garden of Three Gardens, which is an interior garden. It is a collaboration between Tobias Klein and Alvaro Cassinelli. Located within the buildings of Oi!, the second garden is a hybrid between an architectural representation and a sonic simulation. It is an interactive model –an installation in which the audience can explore the relationship between shape, geometry, resonance and energy. This garden takes reference from the dry stone garden concept, where the absence of water is made visible through carefully composed arrangements of rocks and gravel that is raked to represent ripples and waves.
