mnemonic landscapes is a kinetic artwork that challenges our perceptions of the natural world. Five panels form a horizontal view, upon which a 3D-scanned and recomposed landscape is printed on lenticular lenses. These lenses allow for the refraction of light, causing the content of the landscape to change according to the viewing angle. Within these refractive repetitions, the viewer is left searching with a distorted orientation, discovering new territories in the pixelated wilderness. The panels are mounted on a motorized swivel mechanism, adding an extra layer of dynamism to the work.
